SAVAGE MOUNTAIN DAY
04/09/05 at 23:35:03

------------------------------------

June 12, 2005
(Rain date: June 11th)

SAVAGE MOUNTAIN DAY

Ride to your friendly local mountain,
with your pals or lone-wolf.

(Don't forget to think about Sluggo and the riders on the Ash Run To The Volcano!)

Take a picture of it behind your bike(s) as proof,
post it here and
do a little write-up about your ride,
your friends,
your friend's bikes,
whatever.

Note: It doesn't need to be a big mountain,
or even a real mountain,
but it does have to be called
Mount Something or Something Mountain.

It's not a contest,
the only loosers are those who
don't get out and do a ride.

It will be like we all took a road cruise together!
Cheesy

If it rains on June 12th then we ride on June 11th?  Is that in 2006?

OMG!  I'm thinking the nearest mountains to Dallas are out in West Texas.  That's a hell of a ride.  Maybe there's something closer in Oklahoma.  Will have to see what I can do.

That's why I said it didn't have to be a "real" mountain.

You can go to Magic Mountain, Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Olive Church, Mystery Mountain Miniature Golf, Joes Tire Mounting and Repair, whatever you can work out.   That way, if you can't get out for the day, maybe you can scoot across town.

Myself, I'm planning on Mount Pleasant, Lancaster, Ohio.

That's a local joke in Columbus.  There's a parade that advertises it's rain date as the day before. It means it's not gonna happen.

Just a picture of your bike in front of something being "mounted"?

There's gonna be a lot of different types of riding going on...

I've got Haycock Mountian right next door, not much of a ride to it, in fact it is not much of a mountian. Maybe I'll ride around it and take some pictures of it from different angles. Cheesy. Ed L.

Arbuckle Mountains are 2.5 hours north on I-35, before Oklahoma City.  There's even a Casino right across the Red River that will be glad to take your money.

Arbuckle mountain range ain't big, but it's nice.  Turner Falls is worth a look.  I have two geologists that work for me that go on and on about this formation and that outcropping and vertical stuff - I just see it and think it's cool.
