Trailers

Has anyone had any experence pulling any trailers?  I have a '91 Savage.  My longest ride was from Edmonton to Vancouver.  Smiley  I am thinking about the Yukon this summer and a trailer would be mighty handy.

Thanks

I asked about towing a trailer or a side car when I bought "Baby Bike" back in 98. Dealer response? No problem if you can get a hitch made. Trailer weight no more than 250-300 pounds. I think he was a bit optimistic, but, one of those bicycle trailers with upgraded rolling stock should work fine. Better tires, wheels, bearings, keep the hitch pin greased, you won't even know it is there.

FYI, the Savage WILL tow a pretty hefty load if needed. I pulled a GS750T (full touring 4 banger, 640+ pounds) home one day when it threw its chain. That was when the bike was still stock. Slow to start out, but was able to go road speed after a block or so. Road speed WAS only 25 mph though...

In Greece in '68 I pushed a '61 Mercury Convertable with my 36hp Volkswagen.  Could only get upto 15mph.  Found out at the end that he had left it in gear.

Back to suitable trailers once a hitch is fabricated:
