And, what is your definition of a "library"?
For this post, and only this post with the exclusion of all other known posts I would define "Library" as Publicly funded institution where books, periodicals, and other materials like music and films are kept for the public to read, study, or borrow. This is an opinion.
Libraries that are for personal use and privately funded have no position in a socialism thread in my opinion.
Tax supported, non-profit, and all patrons treated equally--- is that not the definition of socialist structure?
I would say it is an isolated example. More like socialist theory versus actual structure. This is an opinion.
Socialist "structure", in my opinion would have the entire economy under government control. This is an opinion.
I think, in the list above, you picked libraries because you LIKE libraries, and like all MAGATs, things you like get a pass.
I picked it because it is first on the list. I can't recall the last time I entered or utilized a public library. This has nothing to do with political affiliation, which for you is clearly impossible to understand, I simply think a lot of people would debate that things like a library is "socialism".
Your inability to engage in discussion like an adult here prohibits you from looking at this in a non-adversarial way in my opinion. Nothing about my statement "I'd say a lot of people would debate that things like a library is "socialism" means, or suggests I disagree with Thumperclone's initial statement.
My statement is directed more at digital licensing and vendor-controlled databases that often force "public" libraries to pay excessive fees to private corporations for digital books and tools on the tax-payer's dime.
