Here is another video that shows the area that Deb and I are going to after Kerrville.  We will be staying at the Seminole Canyon State Park on April 22nd and 23rd.  We will then pack up and begin the 2-3 day drive home to KY.

This is close by I think ?

https://www.motorcycleroads.com/motorcycle-roads/texas/del-rio-secluded-deser...

I understand its only 153 miles from Kerrville to Del Rio , but it might be a very interesting 153 miles ?
On Hwy 377 ?  or there might be a more local road ?

I just checked the ranch house for 4/14 thru the 20th and it's only available thru the 19th (friday)

I'm going to take it and we'll just have to take a cabin for the last day.

Wink

I'm OK with whatever we need to do .   Cool

I could bring the bigger tent (8'x10'x72") if we have more than 4 staying beyond our BIG HOUSE option.
Maybe , getting it out and checking to see if its OK could be a good idea .

Hey MM. Not particularly keen on that motorcycle tent, but I do currently have a Dunlop D404 rear tire on the S40. Have not been riding much lately but it appears to be a decent tire.

It really seems like :  If a car tire can last 80,000 miles
Then
A motorcycle tire should last more than 8,000 .
 Huh

I've had three of the Commander II rear tires and they lasted long times.
But
On wet roads they were like riding on a tire made out of hard plastic.  Grin really not funny ...  Embarrassed   More like kinda scarry !  Tongue

The one I wore out on a Savage lasted 22,000 miles and had tread left ... but ... was down to the wear bars.    On dry roads it was as good as anything else.
The Harley 883 -Commander II lasted 18,000 miles and was wore into the wear bars.
The other one was on that Harley 1200 Sportster that striped its crankshaft splines on the primary drive front.   I traded it in on a car after fixing it and driving it around for a few month ...  I just couldn't forget about the cheap material it was made of so it had to go .

thanks for the reminder...  Embarrassed

We have our reservation, checking in on the 14th, and checking out on the 19th.

If anyone wants to stay longer, there's usually cabins available.

BTW, my plus 1 isn't available for the trip.

Ranch House: Queen, full, 2 twins, sleeper couch, 2 cots and a pair tree.   Wink

April is a long way away , that 8th spot might get replace before the Calendar gets through flipping pages ?

I had the thought about asking that brother of mine (Kent) if he'd want to go ... but he works all the time.    I'll see him next weekend and ask if he'd be interested in such a ride.   He's a Harley Bagger Rider now , so maybe he'd like to take a week long ride

I might have to make two trips to Kerrville this year ?  What's the summer like on the Twisted Sisters ?   Smiley

He might rather do a ride latter in the summer months ?   In the spring folks are getting started on home improvement projects and that where his living comes from.

If you want to make a trip with Kent in the summer when he is not busy - perhaps you shouldn't go south....the summers are hot!

Here is what July 2023 was like.

Do you like heat?

My outside thermometer said 20f this morning.     :'(

I've got the side luggage on the 650 now and am taking the 350 to the shop next , while the weather is keeping me off the road.   Smiley

Retirement life is great , I can wait for the warmest part of the day before I need to do anything !
