And once in a blue moon, you'll need it to start cold. It's all a roll of the dice.

fbp, Are you planning any gussets between the backbone,down tubes and the neck ? you might find room there and maybe just have to extend the cable,Or under the seat area with a much longer cable(this has been done, on a tracker/s40 )You can really place the solenoid almost anywhere on the bike by using a longer cable.at one time I thought maybe the Ryca guys might be able to use the area vacated by the stock speedo.

Bit more progress today. Not going to have chance to do much for a few weeks as the race season kicks off next weekend. So i'm glad to have it at the 'visual reward' stage.
I very nearly didn't notice the back end of the Savage frame isn't symmetrical, with the belt drive sticking out on the left. I'd just measured the distance between the swingarm which is completely wrong So had to widen the back end at the last minute (hence the bits of wood lol)..... pay attention Phil!

On a different note, does anyone in the UK have a rear drive pulley they might've removed when converting to chain? mines broke.

Haha, i hope not, its got 4" clearance, and being a skinny bike it looks like nothing will touch down till silly angles. As for the footpegs, i can't say as I've no idea where they will go yet. But I'm fairly confident it'll be ok.

I forgot to mention too, the headstock tube is set over 1in too high at the moment, it's tacked in currently but will be cut out and welded in true and the right height as the last job. Also the rear tyre is getting changed for a 150/90 so will also be taller.
