I'd rather do something other than duct tape. But if that is what it takes, so be it.

If you take the lens off, you can put a bit of duct tape, electrical tape or foam tape on the tabs where the chrome rings hooks....then bolt it back up like normal. That cured my headlight rattle, and is not visible.

I figured you were kidding, but I wasn't. At low speed that noise is incredibly annoying.

I had that issue a few weeks ago and did the electrical tape and added a foam pad in the back of the bucket.

Ohh, I agree, completely, Gotta get it stopped. I was just thinking you could wrap it up and stop it till you can get into it and fix it right, but tape will leave an impossible to remove mess without wrecking the finish on the bucket.

Stew, thanks for the picture. I was thinking it might take something like that and now I have a go by.

If someone else has better pictures by all means share.  What I did was carefully roll the tape along the edges and do my best to get it where things might rub, but not so far out on the bulb where it is unsightly. I temporarily put the ring on and off too so I could tell if I was lining it up in the right spot. I also put some tape around the metal screw prong thingies to eliminate that metal to metal contact too.  Once you open the can up you'll make sense of it.

Now what I don't know is how long it is going to be before the bulb gets hot and melts the electrical tape I put on the outside of the bulb housing and makes a mess, so consider that before putting tape on the bulb versus just inside the ring and bucket.
