Not riding too much lately
07/08/16 at 19:05:14

I was listening to the radio today at around 2 or 3 p.m. They said the temperature was 98 degree f, but feels like 111 degree f. It has been like this the past few weeks. I do miss spring and fall and even winter. Smiley

I ride when it's single digit temps. I ride when it's triple digit temps. Lately, though, I haven't been riding much either.  Sad

I forgot you first name already.
Just remembered your name is David.....

I understand why you are not riding as often as you used to.

When we first moved to Texas I never thought I would ride again because of the heat and the extreme wind, but there is no fool like an old fool.

Wasn't long before I was riding again and I have learned to get out early and be home by lunch time to avoid the worst of the heat. Yesterday I rode about 25 miles west and on the return trip the wind was so uncomfortable I though again about giving up riding.

I decided that I am going to have to watch the weather reports closer and avoid riding when the wind is above 10 to 15 MPH.

After listening to the warnings about about old people staying indoors during the high ozone days I am thinking that I am going get riding early enough to return home by 11:00.

Just think what would happen with a break down on a rural road on 100 degree day.

Believe me Kenny, the bike rarely goes more than 7 days or so without being ridden at least a bit. I was actually going to ride to work on Thursday but then it turned our I had to give me son a ride to work, so car it was.

About the coldest weather I have ridden in is around 30 F (maybe a few degrees colder). The bike did not want to run that morning. Even after about 5 minutes of riding the bike did not want to idle on its own. I only did that once. From about 40 to about 90 F I consider good riding weather.

I heard you ripped a seam and lost a substantial amount of polyester stuffing recently. When you got repaired, are you Sure they used polyester? If they used wool, that might account for the sudden, all over itching.

Cow tipping has always been a intellectually challenging activity for Texans.  (At least, I hope that it is cow "tipping" JOG is referring to.....)   Wink

I was referring to sacred cows, and my willingness to butcher them. I never did the cow tipping thing.I'm sure I would have had I lived closer to ranches in the teen years.. I probably would have driven to where they were had I just known about it when I was a teenager.
