nice puddle
11/30/13 at 21:57:01

I rode my bike last about a week ago.  been sitting under carport when all of a sudden yesterday there is a nice puddle of gas underneath.  it's not the hose and its dry on top of carb.  but its dripping down the bowl from somewhere. any ideas?

Check for fuel in your vacuum line... (if it has fuel in it,.. your petcock is dead)...
...if there is none there,... your float needle is leaking...

It might leak for several reasons...
Floats are stuck...
Needle seat is dirty...
Needle is worn out...

Whatever the reason... when you correct it,... check your oil level.
If the level is up.. your oil may be contaminated with gas...(change your oil)...
...and check your air filter,... if it's drenched, take it out and let it air dry for a few hours...

Sometimes the float can get stuck. It's happened to me on a bike that's only a year old. Just take the handle of a screwdriver and tap it a few times on the bowl. This is the easiest "fix" in the world Smiley

+1 bot's answer.

drop the bowl
drop the float
"polish" the float needle (it's rubber)
maybe take out the seat, there's a screen, once had a hair ball in it.

What a rousy deal,, I hope you didnt ride it while the oil was diluted. May be okay,, still be better than no oil.,
