Title: IPCC worst case scenario: RIP Post by WebsterMark on 05/19/26 at 03:19:15 I’m thinking back to all those threads about climate change over the past years with members who have long ago pushed away from the tall table. My point was always that climate change was never as serious an issue as it was made out to be. It was overhyped and use as a weapon by one particular political party, and their partners in the media. The recent release from the IPCC on climate change proves that out. My brother and I went for a long motorcycle ride through Central Illinois this weekend, passing a small town called Ballwin Illinois. There’s a massive coal plant there and right next door, one of the largest solar farms I’ve ever seen. I read up on it when I got back and learned this plant was supposed to close in 2025 but they’re keeping it open until 2027. The corporation that owns the plant bought 400 acres next-door and put up solar panels. What does that have to do with anything? I’m not sure precisely. One thing it tells me is that the idea of that “Clean energy“ can reliably provide the energy we need on a daily basis, is as flawed as the overhyped IPCC scenarios. https://rogerpielkejr.substack.com/p/no-rcp85-did-not-become-implausible |

Solar panels get more efficient every year. Old Solar panels are considered HAZARDED WASTE in many States, and the cost to remove/recycle/destroy/dismantle/bury them, cost more than buying them and putting them in service. Many. 'Companies" (in MN) Bought a piece of land, paid peanuts for it, because it had no building eligibility on it. AND telling the owner, "After 20 years YOU GET ALL OWNERSHIP AND THE PANELS BACK !" They NEVER, cleared the land of weeds. Which the Township it was in, had to cut the weeds, Then add that cost to the Taxes of that property. Then the, 'Company', stoped paying taxes, and the added maintenance, YET, took the REVENUE from the production of the panels for 7 YEARS. (7 years no pay taxes in MN, the land ownership reverts to to the Township/County/State) Golly Gee Wally, the, 'Company' does not have to pay ANY, HAZARDED WASTE ! And who were they ? They were OBAMA LOVERS !!!!!!! Not a surprise the UL, FDS, DFI, WOKE, Obama lovers would buy a bunch of land and do the same thing, AGAIN. |

Title: Re: IPCC worst case scenario: RIP Post by WebsterMark on 05/20/26 at 02:59:07 I honestly don’t know enough about large solar farms to know their actual effectiveness at delivering energy. We’ve just had nearly 3 days of rain in this area so the output of any solar panels has to be minimal, single digits of what would be expected on a clear day would be my guess. That’s why the coal plant remains open. |

Title: Re: IPCC worst case scenario: RIP Post by Needles on 05/21/26 at 06:13:06 Solar panels still produce between 10-50% when it's raining. Newer ones still produce half the energy they put out in direct sunlight. Old tech solar used cadmium and lead in the construction. New tech uses less cadmium and lead, and many use none at all. The panels can only be determined to be hazardous on a case by case basis. Coal and other mining companies are using Trumpedo money, NOT to reopen the mines, but to convert strip mined locations to solar and wind farms. It's happening all over Appalachia, the Rust Belt, and into the western mountains. Using coal is too expensive. Even traditional coal burning power plants are now all multi fuel generators. Solar and wind are now the cheapest fuel sources. Even nuclear power costs many times solar to produce. |

So only the, 'old' ones are hazardous. What percent of panels, are to be considered, 'old' ? and ALL of the new ones are perfectly safe ? So the burying of the Wind Propellers, is perfectly Safe also ?? (Because they cannot be recycled) A-Yep. Again the FDS, DFI, WOKE Socialists at work. TRYING to make this Nation a S ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D |
