How many people in an average 6th grade education country would even understand it? I'm not that good at math, so I have to rely on professional experts who DO understand the math. So, if a random Harvard Math prof and a random MIT math prof both say the math is correct, I have to assume it's correct. It's the same idea as representative Democracy. Perfectly clear that English is not required for a State driver's license in most States. As Needles said, plenty of Americans drive legally in other countries without speaking the language. I have and nobody was killed. Perfectly clear that there is some Federal regulations towards the use of larger and commercial vehicles that do require a minimum tested standard for functional use of the English language. The question I have is should English language testing be required to drive legally any vehicle in the US? Should this apply to US citizens also? Should this apply to tourists? How extensive should the testing be? Understanding symbols is much easier than a total understanding of a Language. |
