Title: Anybody pull a 5th wheel.......

Looking for advice, what kind of hitch, any tricks, etc.
Looking at some now, but boy they seem big!
As to size, do you quickly get the knack of it then wish you got a bigger one?

Thanks!

I'd start with a graph paper notebook.
Design an RV that you would want. Then shop .

Figure out, before you go look and fall in love, what you Need. How many square feet will you feel comfortable in, With your Stuff in it?
Some people are not that comfortable in small places. You guys sit down and talk about what you want, then go shopping.
And go to the parts counter and get a catalogue. You would not believe the cool gizmos that exist for an RV.

Oh...... gotcha.

We are looking for a 25 footer with one slide.
Older, we want to redo it.
All of them look so much alike inside, like old people, etc.
Some pretty neat ones where people tear out all that same look stuff and make it theirs.

My question had more to do with, does size matter  :-[

OF course it does. Everything has a Goldilocks zone. That varies depending on WHO is deciding.

Ya know, I have not tried to pull a 5th wheeler with my Savage yet, but it is an interesting idea.   8-)

Been towing a travel trailer for some time now, it's not a 5th wheel but there is a lot in common.
Here's what I've learned so far
Tires only last five or six years, if you are buying a used 5th wheel check the date stamp on all the rubber.
On my trailer the dump valves for the grey and black water are under the slide out which means I have to craw under the trailer to dump the tanks during an extended stay.
Check the roof for patches and repairs around any vents. The rubber roof on most campers has a white coat that wears off after a while, recoating runs a good $500.00 for a 25 footer if you do it yourself. If you spot any black showing through a rubber roof it needs a recoat.
Check the floors for soft spots, run out the slideout and check the outer corners from the underneath.
I've 2001 Dutchmen 26 foot travel trailer and my best advice is DON'T BUY A DUTCHMEN TRAILER THEY ARE JUNK !!!
Have  fun and good luck
