Hey guys curious if anybody has any experience with a small cafe style fairing/fly screen like this one:

Also wondering if it would be possible to use a 32" set of drag bars with the stock '88 risers and not hit the tank. Trying to think of a few upgrades that will make the bike more comfortable than my Buckhorn bars and Memphis shades demon 8-)

I don't have the cafe' fairing, but I do have a very small 5" sorta' mini shield... It does very, very , little as far as wind protection, but it must do somethin'...
:-?...

Any "Drag" bars, have a bit of angle to them, and will hit the tank without about 3" of riser... (you can make risers cheap)...
The only thing that will work without risers is clip-ons or wide, broomstick bars... (I'm not long enough for those to be comfy, especially with the stock forward footpegs)...

Jus' make some risers out of deep-well sockets, or other tubing...

Thanks serow. Being 6'2" the fairing either needs to be extra tall. Larger than the 18 inches I've already got or needs to be smaller and just cover my chest. Going to have to find a happy medium some how.

Cut the one you have down to about 12"...
I have a stock 14" that I trimmed to 11" on my Sporty...
that puts the buffet zone at my collarbone... gives wind protection on my chest but no head buffet...

Use one of those Oscillating, multi-tool's with a half-round toothed blade, to cut... works real good...
This is a case of measure once, cut 3 times...
Go down 1" at a time, test,... and stop when you have the zone in the right place...
Once you have the size right,.. pretty up the cut...
I also,.. cut from the bottom, around the headlight, and kept sliding the mount down the fork tube,... the top edge remains factory perfect... it shows less that way...

Unfortunately I have a handlebar mounted windshield. It's down all of the way to the risers. I guess it could rotate some way, some how to lower down.
