Not me.....

I like my carb.
I like keeping it simple enough that I can fix it.
I also like keeping my $ 700!

Awesome! I was curious if someone made such a device. Please try it out and let us know the results. ;D

Until then...

The price isn't bad compared to what the OEM components cost when you buy them from a dealer.  I have been told that a motorcycle ECU from a dealer can cost $1200.

If you do this I think people would enjoy following your progress.  If I get another bike it will have a carb(s).  Troubleshooting is much easier.

When do you think they will do away with carbs?

No kidding, I was expecting something much further down the road.

Speaking of much further down the road.....the video would have been better with a higher camera angle.

If the backfire and afterfire on the Savage is bothering you....this might solve that problem.

Would you also have to change gas tanks with EFI?

tank tap look like it remplace the stock petcock and the pump is external. any stock tank will do the job.

My method for fixing efi is pretty simple...
I just keep replacing $100 - $200 parts one at a time until it's fixed...
It does get pricey though... :-?...

Most carb repairs cost between 0 - $20...

If the efi goes out on my Hurley... I'm buying a carb... ;D...

I see no need to install injector on his Savage . first: this is not a racing bike and of its mechanical heart don't need to squeeze "all the juice". secondly: the engine Savage has a rather small volume and accordingly is quite moderate fuel consumption. no, I'm not quite ready to give 699 bucks for this set. ;)

:-? that's pretty sweet and definitely original, if someone decides to try this be sure and do a before and after test so we can see the performance changes in the SAVAGE!!

I have no problem with a carb.  They have been used for the past 100 years.  They are easy for a person with average mechanical aptitude to clean, repair and set up.  In a pinch, they can be repaired on the road.  If using an OEM carb, they are relatively simple to tune yourself without a bunch of special equipment.  Once set up, a carb will generally operate for years without requiring any further attention-- If the vehicle is used regularly and not allowed to set.  For long-term storage (winter storage?), motorcycle carbs and fuel systems are easily drained.

I myself am able to ride in the winter at least about once every 2 weeks.  All I need is a temperature at least in the upper 40's.  I don't own a battery maintainer or use any fuel stabilizers.

Totally understand an individuals love for the modern carburetor.
But it is the 21st Century.
For example.
Isn't an internal combustion engine much more energy efficient than a steam engine?

My wife's Monster is fuel injected. It feels overly sensitive to me. The throttle isn't as easy to roll on and off without driveline snatch as a carby engine. I prefer the power delivery of my Pantah with Dellorto carbs. Both got the same size engine. The best thing about the injection is the instant start and idle. Just my 2c. I'll be interested to ride a new injected Enfield single and see how it feels.
