According to a letter to the editor in today's newspaper the Tea Party and birthers are stalwart defenders of the glorious and godly principles set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

And where were the Tea Partiers when Bush referred to the Constitution as 'just a darn piece of paper'?

Where were they when our rights became negotiable under the PATRIOT Act?

Where were they when we were lied into a needless war in Iraq?

Where were they when the man who had the most votes was displaced by the Supreme Court?

Where were they when countless no-bid contracts went to friends of the Bush administration?

Instead of asserting their right to carry loaded weapons to presidential events, why didn't they protest when Americans were banished from such events for having the wrong bumper sticker on their car?

The anger over taxes doesn't wash, either, given that the middle class is presently paying about half what they paid under Reagan.

Fear is their binding tie, and it's obvious to anyone who isn't a teabagger that their eruptive indignation is tied directly to the color of this President's skin.

The reason they call themselves tea baggers is to aquire by way of name dropping, the persona of rebellious founding fathers.
In reality, their agenda is nothing like the original tea partiers.
They merely hijacked the name.
The fact that hey are riding this hijacking for all they can tells me all that I need to know about them. They are a bunch of posers.

Elsewhere I think, I read someone comaring this tea party to another one, made famous by Lewis Carroll..they do seem so similar. ;D

I think you and a handful of other "haters" keep a lot of people from even reading The Cafe. I personally get tired of hearing all the psycho-babble. Are people not allowed to have their own beliefs, different than yours? THIS DOES NOT MAKE SOMEONE A RACIST
The truth is, like it or not, these people are making a difference. They're mostly common folk, tired of getting pissed on and lied to.
Don't you have something more constructive to do with your time?? It's always the same handful of people crying the loudest. Like a bunch of spoiled brats.. BOOO-phuckin-HOOO...
