Title: Wide tire kits and swingarm kits????
Post by swinn on 12/06/08 at 21:12:59

I've been looking around for a wide tire kit.

Is the Suzuki S40 similar enough to a Harley Sportster, that I can purchase a Harley kit and mod myself?

Anyone have any insight or experience to this?

I doubt it VERY much. When I was thinkin' about doin' this,I was going to have a swingarm made.Take a stock swingarm cut off the  pieces that go to the wheel, and have a section made from the pivot to whatever width you need, and weld the side pieces back on.Weld a tab on for the stock brake drum, and you still use the stock hardware to reassemble.Machine shop can make an axle, and spacers. You would have to measure yourself for spacer size, but the axle you could take in, and tell them you need this only x" wider.
Oh,and Buchannon spoke, and wheel(I think that's how it's spelled) can make a rim to match the Savage's only wider.Check in older posts there are some about this, and guys have already done the leg work on availablitiy, and price, etc.

pssst.Next time put ?'s in rubber side down. You'll get more responses.
