My country is a small country and is heavily dependent on the German automotive industry, which is on the verge of death. But all European countries, as well as Poland, are experiencing economic pressure and industrial decline.

Last year, they had to close a large part of their steel industry, despite having a large domestic market and relatively low wages. They no longer produce aluminum from ore.

Another significant point is that we are at war with Russia over Ukraine, and that Trump has now concluded a deal for diesel with Putin, making more money available for the war, meaning Europe has to raise even more money to support Ukraine.

Europe is fundamentally opposed to the war with Iran and does not want to deploy NATO there. Hence the call in Rubio's speech for Europe to deploy NATO in the Middle East.

So that is your OPINION.

My OPINION is that some Countries are doing just fine.

Like Poland, where the news said, several times, Poland did not,
    and still do NOT,
let freeloaders crying GIMMIE into their Country.

Don't waste your time trying to debate MAGATs. They don't know the rules, logic, or recognize reality.

I've given up adult conversations with them. Now My goal is to p1ss them off, get them to waste THEIR time composing long, meaningless posts, or get them to go at it with each other. Just push their buttons. They are very easily manipulated...

America wants world dominance through confrontation, intimidation, and war. I don’t want that and I believe  that matches the opinion of lot of people. You’re seeing the US through the lens of local “news”, and not reality.

I would like to point out that I follow the local news here and regularly read in the news that America is exercising severe intimidation on both Europe and the Netherlands. It concerns countermeasures that are outright accompanied by threatening language and the undoing of existing measures.

I wonder how many people in America are aware of that.

All attempts by Europe to become less dependent on America are being punished severely. China is no different, and Russia is waging war throughout Europe by means of cyberattacks and actual attacks.

It sounds a bit dramatic when I say this, but that is the situation here at the moment.

Our industry is under enormous pressure. High energy costs, cheap imports, European climate regulations, and international competition are making production increasingly difficult.  and there is a large outflow of high-tech machines abroad due to the bankruptcy of suppliers to bigger industry. Electricity prices have risen by 30% this month. Our aluminum and steel production are in great danger of disappearing.

Things are not looking great at the moment and Rubio's speech is not intended to be supportive. It is intended as a command for further surrender to America.

Fair points but I think you’re missing the bigger message which is, as was said by a previous President, the US is a shining light on the hill. I still believe that to be true.

The policies this administration are pursuing aren’t meant to drive a wedge between legitimate governments who are pursuing peace and prosperity for their peoples. America is not looking for everyone to surrender. Dismantle the leadership of Iran? Yes, absolutely. Who could possibly argue against that. As they say, if you wanna make a omelette, you have to break some eggs.

And the tariffs are Trump‘s attempt to level the playing field as he sees it. I don’t agree with all those tariffs, but I certainly agree. Tariffs have a role to play and they forced some counter proposals.

What we’re doing now is far better in the long run than previous administrations who essentially forgot that a strong America is good for the entire globe.

Name one of Trumpedo's tariffs that actually had good results. Good results means LESS cost to consumers, not more.

You have found an outlet here, and that is exactly the function this table serves. I salute the wise people here on the forum for it.

I find the level of projection to be interesting.  Like how the most angry claim they are doing it to make other people upset.  I can't imagine being emotionally invested in something like this, but if someone sees every conversation as a confrontation I can see where words on a screen would p!ss them off.
