Suzuki likely won't make a 650 single - the world market just isn't big enough to justify the cost of making one.

I would like that.

Reply #4 - 09/21/26 at 21:17:36 Well maybe Honda will bring their CB/GB 500 single , long stroke to us in a few years ... At least it's a REAL MACHINE . Till then I just got a new Rear Tire (#4) for the 350 Meteor , it turned over 29,000 miles on todays ride . So I'll be ridding the 650 for a few days while I make time to change tires .

So this is obviously not real, at one point they show it as a single and at another a twin cylinder. That said, why would they not bring it back, they have the tooling, they can update it and they can try to capitalize on the huge market of E-bike riders looking to move up. Is it fake, 100%, is it a fish to try and provide Suzuki with some sort of market feel, you judge.

Honda has parked a twin cyclinder 250 - 500 Rebel in the market for a long time. Looking for some feedback on that a new 650 street model would be is a no brainer for Suzuki.

It is obviously fake, but would you consider a new 650, S40 twin a viable option? We ride bikes from the Stone Age, and love them for that, but going forward an FI, 650 twin, I could get on board.

Hay , I've got a Belt Drive , 2023 , FI , 650 twin , air/oil cooled Royal Enfield Interceptor for my spare bike now , it take me back to the 1970's . I still like the Single better . Wink

Those two Suzuki LS 650's I had spoiled me to the feel of a Single . Wink

Now days I get by on a (bore/stroke) of (72x86mm) single 350cc Enfield (27Nm).
It's geared like the LS 650's but with less power but with FI and 80+ mpg. Staying off the Interstate is OK most of the time ... a 500cc would be the cure.

There is something to be said for the big single, I love mine and ride them both often. I also have a big V-twin, a Honda Fury 1300 and here is the thing, the number of "street cruisers" seems to be a "passed fad", like the chopper craze of cable TV. Far more performance rides, cross-over and dual purpose are in the pipeline. Or the big road machines, full fairing, stereo, heat.

I was at my local Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha Dealer today, a good size showroom of everything but "cruisers". They have recently added Moto Guzzy, but only had a couple models in the showroom. A lot of duals, off road and dirt bikes.

The freedom a motorcyle provides to the soul on the open road, seems to have been replaced by the concept of, it must be an "adventure" or an "adrenaline rush" on a performance bike. Or did I just miss that all along.

But I digress, would I go out and buy a new Savage twin, probably not. But our little thumper has a history which might intrigue some young hipsters into buying a new version for some cred recognition from the LS/S40 past.

Myself a hardcore thumper enthusiast, it’s all about the big bore thump and that awesome exhaust note. I hate the sound of the newer parallel twins , really quite annoying. And those rev limiters , pretty sure they are actually IQ limiters. Sorry guys , ride a thumper , the true essence of motorcycling ! I think Honda already has a bunch of fish on the line with the CB/GB 500. I’ve been to the dealer , working him for some info , left my name & number and told him to call when I’m able to put a deposit down. I recognized the sales manager probably from another dealer , but I know him from somewhere. And yeah it’s all AI crap , don’t watch it and you won’t get sucked into believing it !

The CB 500 single is a real bike already in India .

The CB 500 is and oversized CB 350 Single. Europe has the 350cc version now but they call it the GB 350.

I don't think Honda will bring the GB 350 to us here in the USA , but ... They might bring the GB 500 to us here in the USA ? I hope they do , I believe the 500cc's Stroke is 90mm just like the 350's is.

For local trips and riding around on the curvy roads at home and around the country - I love my Savage Single. I believe a lot of folks today don't understand the big single and think the exhaust note is weird.....Mo at the Kickstand Lodge called us the "Putt Putt" boys.

However - my BMW F800GT parallel twin is absolutely comfy in comparison. It is just as capable in the curvy roads and the engine is buttery smooth - it has far better suspension, great brakes, sticky tires and the 90HP can get you places as fast as you dare to go. Belt drive is great, and the bike doesn't require anything more than routine maintenance. A BMW isn't as expensive as folks may believe - I bought mine 2 years old with 6,000 miles on it and didn't pay more than I would have for a new comparable Moto Guzzi, Royal Enfield, Honda or Yamaha.

Local rides are a lot of fun on my big single and it is the bike I choose on nice sunny days - the parallel twin is far superior on long rides and going down the highway at travel speeds (cruising at the posted 70-80mph speeds are effortless and smooth).

Different strokes for different folks!!!!!!
