Rightfully so. Public servants have no right to assault and prosecute humans based off their sexual preference, especially when they were paid to stay out of it by local criminal enterprise.

Then, (violation of local laws against serving alcohol to gays and lesbians)
Was not unusual. Many States/Counties/Towns had such laws/ordinances.

How many ordinance Today! allow LEO to assault humans for alcohol consumption violation?

It is illegal to serve alcohol to humans under age 21, so can LEO Today! go beat 19 year old humans with batons because they are in violation of the alcohol serving ordinance?

It was never legal to assault patrons of bars functioning illegally. They could be arrested, but not assaulted solely on the grounds of violating those laws.

so I do not know that (then),
they were BEAT with BATONS.

How do you know they were, BEAT with BATONS.
Or were they being arrested,
then hit/beat/etc, the arresting people
who then used Batons ?

Medical records and written avadavats from LEO. This is like saying I wasn't there to witness lynching, so how do I know humans were dragged behind vehicles, hung, and beaten.

Forensic records, and the statements of the humans that did it. Literally LEO stating they struck homosexual humans with their baton because they were in violation of a consumption law, not because they were resisting a lawful arrest.

For instance, have you ever witnessed The Muslim Brotherhood killing Christians? How do you know they weren't killing Christians in self defense?

The point STILL IS, it was never legal to assault patrons of bars functioning illegally.
