“BREAKING: DHS confirms that the suspect in custody for murdering Loyola University student Sheridan Gorman in Chicago is a Venezuelan illegal alien who was caught & released at the border by the Biden administration in May 2023. DHS says he was also released from local custody after a shoplifting arrest in the sanctuary city of Chicago on June 19, 2023.

DHS identifies the suspect as Venezuelan national Jose Medina-Medina. Medina-Medina is accused of approaching Gorman while she was walking in a park with friends early Thursday morning.

DHS says Medina-Medina came up to her while wearing a mask and armed with a gun. As she attempted to flee, he fired his gun and shot her. Gorman was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.”

You know what makes this even worse? He was arrested for shoplifting and released. WTF are we doing?

I understand your concern, but at this moment I find it more important to cool down the double-down rhetoric. I think America needs to be realistic and face the current situation, and that it cannot continue with the intense division and the consequences this brings about.

America has started a war that has enormous consequences, which it cannot control or oversee.
You can make the internal chaos even bigger, but no one benefits from that right now.

I get your emotional response, but I believe you cannot view his actions in isolation from the political climate in America.

The enormous political polarization in America, which people have come to accept as normal but often inflames tempers, has had an impact on it.

Trump himself is also a product of American society. You see his mentality very often, hence his success.

Yes. We are ultimately responsible for our actions. It is convenient however that our unreasonable actions could be the fault of everyone else's energy and not our own.

The Maimonides Medical Center experiment has never been reliably reproduced. When the participants are not informed of the intended thoughts (positive or negative) in a blind polysomnography the outcomes have a 33% chance of being accurate. Pseudoscience.

I agree with you to the extent that Trump plays a major role in this, but you cannot view it in isolation from America as a whole.

Even if the approval rate is 40%.
The relationship and the political history with the oil-producing countries in the Middle East are too long for that.
The geopolitical opponents are not targeting Trump, but America and the financial system linked to the petrol dollar.
China, for example, pursues a long-term strategy.

I wonder how another president would have reacted to the current situation, because America simply has a long-standing violent streak when it comes to protecting the petrol dollar. Just look at Iraq and Libya.

That is also the reason why the American army is so large and has military bases worldwide.
