A nod to Monty Python from years ago…
Channel surfing the other day and caught bit of a great movie, The Terminator. At work we have been encouraging the use of Microsoft copilot as an AI tool.
Then I saw the article below this morning. Another potential answer to the fermi paradox.

Excellent Reading !
"... A Fermi problem is a type of estimation challenge that aims to find a reasonable approximation for a quantity when exact data is unavailable or hard to obtain..."
"...These problems, named after physicist Enrico Fermi, involve breaking down complex questions into smaller, manageable parts ...
using reasonable assumptions and estimates to arrive at an answer..."
This part explains a very possible reason.
"...The universe seeds life generously. It’s indifferent to whether those seeds grow into forests or fade into silence. CCI, (Cellular Cosmic Isolation), suggests that the path from chemistry to conversation is longer, stranger, and more filtered than we imagined..."
"... the building blocks are everywhere. The recipe is universal. And somewhere, in the vast probabilistic landscape of possibility, other cells are awakening. We just may never hear them call out before they, like us, transform into something we wouldn’t recognize as a civilization at all ..."

Ben Franklin once said: "If you give up a freedom, for the sake of security, you will have neither".
Which is

In your opinion.
This part explains a very possible reason.
This is your opinion.
I liked Neil deGrasse Tyson's simple explanation of intelligent life in the universe on a calendar. The word "liked" implies this is an opinion. He described time in the known universe as being on a large wall with a calendar covering it, and human existence being a tiny sliver on Dec 31 smaller than 1/100,000ths of a human hair.
Looking into the universe hoping to see an equally developed society is like blindly throwing a dart at that calendar. The chances of another form of life developing at exactly the same ratio as humans as astronomically small.
This post is an opinion.
