I just got back from a great 3 days of riding in Jasper, Arkansas.

My neighbor Bruce and I left at 7AM on Tuesday morning and spent 12 hours on the road getting to the Dogwood Springs Campground.

We rode Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and got to cover a lot of ground...about 800 miles over the 3 days.  We did the usual Arkansas Grand Canyon, Pig Trail, Eureka Springs and all the great roads connecting them.

The roads here are a bit more open with larger curves and 50-60mph speeds being common, and the pavement is great.  The distances between STOP signs and intersections is often considerable and there is more miles to the smiles here.  Traffic was incredibly light on this trip and the weather was perfect - with not a single cloud in the sky any of the 3 days.

There was a BDR (Backroad Discovery Route) in the area - so there was a lot of Dual Sport bikes and riders in the area.

On the way home one night we passed through Ponca and got to see several Elk feeding in the fields.

It is a very nice riding area - it is a shame that it is 620 miles away from home!

It could be that this may have been the last warm weather multi-day ride for me in 2026 - fall/winter weather is coming.
