It's just a MAGAT attempt to get around the tax codes and initiate a flat rate tax, which EVERY economist agrees puts the tax burden primarily on the poor. So, they SAY they're going to remove income tax, but the People will have to pay the tariff costs. If you're a billionaire, your maintenance costs, for food, housing, medical, transportation, etc., are a TINY fraction of what you earn, so the amount is negligible. If you make $60,000 a year or less, that percentage will be a lot higher than the 15-17% you would have paid.  Typical MAGAT DISinformation.

America is not in a good state at the moment.

America can no longer afford to invest so much money abroad because it no longer has a return on its investment, as China is scooping up all the good deals because they have more money. If you don't counter that with tariffs Your done, And you don't stimulate production. And if there's no production at home, you no longer generate any money.

It's not a Trump trick; it's a dire necessity.

My company has made the business decision to absorb the extra costs of tariffs on foreign components and not pass these along to our customers. That’s a step not every industry can afford of course.

I don’t know and I doubt a reliable number could be found that shows what % of the extra tariff costs are absorbed, paid by the originating country (through various financial techniques)or passed along and paid by the consumer.

But I will say with certainty, those crying about this extra cost being passed to the consumer are the same ones demanding higher wages and either ignoring the effect that has on the price the consumer pays or they demand the company themselves absorb the cost of what is essentially another tax on the business.
