A worm in the big apple

A timely article given that our largest city is about to essentially drink to excess and get behind the wheel by electing a socialist incapable of a clear vision

https://lawliberty.org/virtue-economics/

Virtue Economics vs. the Myth of Equality

If mechanistic objectivity and science envy are one source of resistance to virtue economics, another is modern thought’s obsession with equality. It resists any suggestion that wealth or poverty might reflect differences in virtue, often resorting to moral outrage or conspiracy thinking when the argument gets difficult. Democratic and communist ideals have long glorified the poor at the expense of the rich, while fascism and populism twist the same theme for their own ends. We remain willfully blind to the moral foundations of prosperity because we hesitate to admit that virtue often produces wealth, and vice, poverty.

Instead, the deserving rich, classes and nations alike, should remember that much virtue is inherited: you do well by doing good because that’s what you were taught. Practice noblesse oblige towards others who were not so fortunate.

Virtue economics is an uphill battle, but it’s worth the fight. It warns against killing the goose—virtue—that lays the golden eggs. Virtue must be maintained through families, churches, and honorable institutions. And while the quiet collaboration of virtue and capitalism has done much to better the human condition, it could do much more if we were more intentional about making virtue and capitalism work together.

Although noblesse oblige endures—billions flow each year from the wealthy who want to give back—the modern bias is not to trust it, but instead, to stand up government bureaucracies to do what noblesse oblige could do better. A brighter future awaits if we let virtue economics unlock it.

Trump will take away food and healthcare for 40 million Americans
A man that has never been 2 hours without a hamburger

Somebody learns a new phrase thinks they can lecture the world
Did you follow the point of "Noblesse oblige"?
If you did, Trump should disgust you

Noblesse oblige is a French term meaning "nobility obliges," which suggests that those with privilege, such as nobility, have a responsibility to act honorably and generously towards others. It emphasizes that wealth and power come with social duties, requiring individuals to support and protect those less fortunate.

I think before millionaires ask billionaires to give away money they should check to see what percentage of their net worth can be "given away" and compare that to their own 115million contributions, in percentage, to their own liquid assets.

The takeaway from that article, for everyone who isn’t poisoned by hatred, is an interesting one.

Capitalism requires virtue. I would say without virtue, capitalism devolves to socialism. Chew on that for a while.

I’ve had the good fortune to have customers, companies that all of you know, and they give away millions of dollars.

You are able to remain stultifyingly ignorant while the facts are readily available.
I'd hate to have you as referee in any game if you wanted the other team to win.

You hit upon a key, if not the key, aspects of politics in today’s world and that’s politics is a game, a sporting event where you imagine yourself in the battle, fighting it out for a victory. I do that, you do that, we all do, but to different degrees.

A good teammate is said to be someone who’ll sacrifice themselves for the team, to look past a teammate’s failings and fight for them if called on.

That’s why those with such a burning hatred for Trump will do, say and support the most ridiculous things, will literally deny reality right in front of them. For crying out loud, they sacrifice their children to the rainbow flag, cutting off body parts and destroying their lives just for a chance to wear their blue jerseys proudly.

The challenge for the more rational is to keep the filters in place that allow you to remove nonsense.

I didn’t want Trump, I wanted DeSantis. But I know Trump was the only one who could have taken on the Democratic’s future voting machine know as mass illegal immigration. I think the economy is going fine. I’m glad we’re attacking boats in the ocean. The key areas of the nation are better now than a year ago. Take the win Mr President.

I wish Trump would shut up. Yes, Biden was a crook who stole millions but drop it,he got away with it. He’s dying, leave him alone.

My perfect outcome is Republicans win huge in the midterms and Trump retires giving us 10 years of Vance. I’m fine with that.

You know, it's going to be hilarious when New York THRIVES under the new mayor. THAT's what MAGATs fear the most: proof that Democratic Socialism is the way forward, and that capitalism MUST be controlled severely to even be allowed in a civilized country.

Name one thing Trump has done to aid people that need help
He is even banned from ever having a charity because he used it as his personal checkbook and contributed nothing

He's going to hell and he knows it
