First pics of my improved sidecar combination
10/05/25 at 15:33:20
A Filipino friend of mine thought he could do a better job than me , so I took a chance and let him do it. He was right, he made a perfect job. Drives perfectly, its as solid and safe as can possibly be. He said where he comes from this is how they build them for transporting heavy loads.
The bike has loads of torque and handles everything with ease.
Now all I need to do is prep and paint the pipework. I can't make up my mind whether to paint it black , or give it some colour to make it a feature. I will post finished pics when done.
The sidecar is quickly detachable.

Up to you, but maybe give part of the front a high vis appearance.

Yes I agree, it does need something. I have some ideas.

A M60 would look good up front. Might help clear traffic too!

Pretty little rig.
The plan is to make it loud. the pipework will be black apart from the grab bars which will be red. But what will really finish it off is a really loud hornblasters train horn kit. I can mount the horns anywhere on the front of the tub, sides , top , or underneath. Underneath might be preferable, nobody is going to suspect a loud sound coming from such a little thing without visible horns.
There is plenty of room for the compressor and power source in the trunk.

A bit of colour makes a difference
The sidecar cost $ 1470 shipped to Vancouver, and another $600 to get it to Sask. The bike cost just $2500 which was an absolute bargain. Total $4570. This does not include the work done to fit the sidecar as a friend did it for me at no charge, but I do know he spent around two days doing it. If I had had to pay for it what the cost would have been, well your guess is as good as mine, but it would not have been cheap.
For me it was worth the hassle, The Savage had the features I liked, I liked that it's tiny, has a 650cc single OHV thumper engine with carb and belt drive. I ended up with a lightweight great handling, great looking little rig with lots of torque, capable of cruising all day at 50- 60 mph. Just what I wanted
