I saw the whole video of the Ukrainian woman being stabbed. You can find it if you look for it easy enough.

What’s just as bad is no one did anything. She bled to death. No one helped her. She died, crumpled up in a ball, between two seats on a train.

Rather common response.  I remember in high school a kid drove his motorcycle into a tree, no gear, split hit head open and laid there unconscious bleeding out and everyone just stood there.

I had to tell a girl 4 times to run inside and call 911.  Man it was infuriating, but a good lesson learned.

You might mention that she was killed in N Carolina not Ukraine

I have European friends and relatives that will no longer visit America for concerns over violence and healthcare

I think everybody know she was killed in Charlotte, North Carolina.

How many visitors to the  United States who go to the typical tourist attractions are killed randomly? That’s gotta be a very small number.

Avoid no-go zones and don’t get involved in drug trafficking, and your are as close to being safe here as anywhere else.

And if someone sites healthcare is a reason for not visiting the US, they don’t really wanna go and they’re searching for excuses.

I had somebody who works for us coming to St. Louis to visit and go to St. Louis Cardinals game and they were asking me for recommendations of what they will see. I gave them a great list but they also ask about St. Louis’s reputation as one of the top murder capitals in the country.

I told them the areas to avoid, which they did, and they had a great time. Do not go out of this one particular area in downtown St. Louis at night. Don’t do it. One other thing I said was no public transportation. We have a train known as the Metrolink that doesn’t control access points to only those with tickets and it’s dangerous unless there’s 20,000 people from the suburbs going downtown for Cardinal game.

My daughter lives in Denver and they have a great public transport system and you don’t need a ticket to gain access to the platform or the train either but it’s much much safer. We took the train to a Rockies game earlier this year with her and there was a security guy on the train checking tickets.

I’m not sure why.

Some years ago, in Mpls/StPaul MN.
The Transportation people went on strike.

The Metro Train, which one does NOT need a ticket to use, was silent.

The Mall Of America, reported a 80% LESS instance in stealing/theft.

When the train resumed,
the shoplifting went back to,
   "" normal "".

Found one for ya.

https://touristplaces.guide/how-many-tourists-are-killed-in-the-us-each-year-...

“… Ever wondered about the safety of visiting the US, especially with all the headlines about crime and gun violence? It’s a question that popped into my head before I planned a road trip across the States in 2023. I mean, the US has so much to offer—think Grand Canyon sunsets, New York’s buzzing streets, or New Orleans’ jazzy vibes—but is it safe for tourists? I’m diving into the stats on how many tourists are killed in the US each year, sharing my own experiences, and breaking down what you need to know to
The US is a top travel destination, with 79.6 million international visitors in 2023 alone, according to Statista. But news about mass shootings or crime can make you wonder: is it risky to visit? I felt this when I planned my trip from Chicago to San Francisco. Friends back home kept asking, “Aren’t you worried about safety?” Honestly, I was a bit nervous, but I wanted to see the real picture. So, how many tourists actually lose their lives in the US each year, and why? Let’s look at the data. …”

Which is REALLY SMALL !
