Yes - We are in Italy!  We started with 3 days in Rome, then a day in Orvieto, then a couple of days in Sienna, then a couple of days in Milan.  We left Milan and made a drive to Bologna to visit the Ducati museum, and we are in Lake Como for a week.

It is an amazing place!  It is incredible to see buildings that are 1,000 years old and still in use - and the remnants of the buildings in Rome that are 2,000 years old!

The older cities were built long before cars/trucks/busses - and the streets are therefore very narrow and often limited to one way travel, and parking is very limited in these areas.  Scooters are increibly useful here and the riders are very skilled and ride incredibly well.  It is amazing to see older women in scooters riding far more aggressive than we ride on the Tail of the Dragon or any of our mountain rides  men/woman young and old ride very quickly).  At stop lights the scooters and motorcycles filter up to the front - elsewhere they lane split and pass at every opportunity.....speed limits don't seem to be a deterrent for them.  It is no wonder that so many MotoGP riders are Italian!
