Walking back the initial numbers helped too in my opinion.  This is an opinion.  If the original proposals had sustained then there's no way the US wouldn't have entered a self-imposed recession from people hoarding income.  

 There is a definite benefit to have some Corporations HERE, but to think that every good sold in the US should be made in the US is unrealistic.  In my opinion.

 People calling doomsday on tariffs is no different than people calling doomsday on trade deficits.
