No SS office for hundreds of miles
03/21/25 at 06:13:54

So in CO if the current Social Security Administration cuts go through there will be 3 total SS offices in the entire State, in my opinion, based off objective truth in regard to how math works.  This is an opinion.

This is concerning as the use of the USPS and online resources have been the only reliable methods of rural contact in my opinion.  My opinion is this is concerning as the use of the USPS and online resources have been the only reliable methods of rural contact.

The elderly human that lives North of my primary residence has spent days, literally hours and hours on hold in their phone system just to access basic information in regard to this human's benefits.  It is my opinion based off the calculated times on her phone.  A solution to this, in my opinion, has been this human's physical presence at the SS office.  My opinion is a solution to this has been this human's physical presence at the SS office based off my personal transportation taking this human to the SS office and my staff member offering assistance.  This is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicates this is opinion.

In my opinion the reduction of SS physical locations combined with a requirement that humans physically go to a SS office along with the already established, in my opinion, long (long being subjective and as such the word "long" should be, when taken into context of this post on only this post with the exception of all other posts, considered an opinion) wait times for any services by phone, will certainly, in my opinion, cause more inefficient outcomes from the SSA.

This post is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicates this post is an opinion.

Is that the fault of Trump/Musk/JD ?

Is that the fault of another POTUS ?

Or is that the fault of lazy, not wanting to work, (yet wanting to be PAID) workers ?

This post is not a 'opinion',
it is a question.

My opinion is shutting down more physical offices is not more efficient given the state of modern technology, combined with requiring more humans go to physical offices.  This is an opinion.

So, (in your opinion), who's fault is it, that people (In some locations) have to be on the phone or in person, waiting a very long time ?
(Some offices both, some, one or the other)

You clearly said your 'opinion', is.
Not the fault of; Trump/Musk/Vance. Or some other POTUS. Or Lazy people that don't want to work, yet get paid.

What would fix it ? What would make it better/faster/easier/etc ?

MY, 'Opinion', is:
FIRE the ones that do not want to work, yet get paid.
And HIRE the ones that know how to work.

OH WAIT,
In Not someone already DOING THAT ????????
And the UL, DFI, WOKE, FDS, Socialists are crying about it ?????

My opinion is that there exists a multitude of reasons why the SSA is not providing efficient service.  One in my opinion, is understaffed offices.  One in my opinion, is antiquated software and policy.  One is potentially, in my opinion, staff that are not working to their full potential.  One in my opinion, is poor analytics.  One in my opinion, is that front-end service is underfunded.

My opinion is increasing the number of humans required to appear at offices, while decreasing the number of offices is inefficient.  This is an opinion based off of how we understand math to work.

If I want to sell motorcycle parts and remove all online sales in favor of telling customers to go to physical locations, will I make more money by closing physical stores?  Will that in any way address employee performance?   Opinion is no.  The previous sentence indicates an opinion.

I think that is the intent however staff being let go are probationary or based off AI evaluated job-titles and not based off performance.  None of that addresses the reduction in physical offices while telling thousands of more humans to now go to physical offices.  It is my opinion that if the offices remaining open were based off performance it would make more sense in my opinion.  This post is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicated this post is an opinion.

Interesting, on one post you said it was not, your opinion, "... the fault of lazy, not wanting to work, (yet wanting to be PAID) workers ? ..,."

  It is my opinion that:
"... lazy, not wanting to work..."
 is the same as,
"...not working to their full potential..."

Is not, "...based off AI evaluated job-titles and not based off performance. ..."

Sounds like, 'diversity'.
Do NOT pick the best qualified person for the job.

It is my opinion that you asked "Or is" in regard to the options provided which creates a parameter of Option 1, "Or" Option 2, "Or" option 3.  My opinion is not one "or" the other but a combination of things, one of which is employees not working to their full potential.  This is an opinion.  This post is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicates this post is an opinion.

It is my opinion that AI does not pick the best person for the job either.    None of that addresses the topic, that being that it is mathematically less efficient to increase requirements for physical presence at a location while reducing the number of approved locations.  This is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicates an opinion.

Nicely Spun !

 That sounds like an opinion.

Ignoring that the process is now having less offices while requiring more humans go to those offices while attempting to imply Diversity or generally sh!tty hires have something to do with any of it sounds like Spin to me.  This is my opinion. This post is an opinion.  The previous sentence indicates this post is an opinion.

SSA could hire millions of good non-Diversity workers and open 100,000 additional call centers and it will do nothing since humans would still have to travel to a physical office - that they are reducing the numbers of.

"...humans would still have to travel to a physical office ..."
"...  a requirement that humans physically go to a SS office ..."

 Said Eegore

"...January 4, 2025 ..."

"... An in-person visit to a Social Security office can be important when you need personal assistance with complex situations, require help navigating paperwork, have questions that can’t be easily answered over the phone, or need to provide original documents that cannot be submitted electronically. ..."

"...  If you need to visit an office, schedule an appointment first. ..."

"... The average wait time for Social Security to answer a call is about 30 minutes, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. ..."

"... As of March 31, 2025, the SSA will be removing the ability to verify identity over the phone. This means that those unable to verify their identity online are required to visit an SSA field office to prove who they are. ..."
