 But it's not the database payments are based off of.  It's the one they abandoned when they updated the systems, COBOL is old.  Did you even look at any of this?  

 We need to know how screwed up the current payment database is.  Just like I don't need to go update my 2005 payrolls and waste money there, I need to have my 2025 ones accurate.  That's where I should spend money.

YES an outdated data base is ripe for fraud
we need to stop the waste and fraud
the process needs to be done with the support of congress

Congress is literally the fox who guards the hen house and the ones who created and supported this system over decades. They are incapable of fixing this. It’s being run by career bureaucrats, which is why it has to come from the top.


 The speed of Congress is a double edged sword.  It's good they can't jump to conclusions so to speak, but bad it takes ages to get simple core-things done.  There should be focus on Social Security fraud mitigation, but there's no need to update the "database" Musk posted.  He posted that just to get views and support - not because it reflects actual payment activity.  

 We as independent humans should be able to assess the difference between spending money updating a database that is not being used and spending money using a current payment database.  Congress will take too long, so DOGE or whoever needs to get it started.  

 While we squabble over whether the Musk referenced DATABASE is accurate or not, someone out there hopefully will be using the actual real payment records to find fraud.
