Roddy, glad to hear you got it fixed.  Could you please do a reply to your original post so this nugget of gold is captured.  That way, there is a record of the solution so other members can benefit from your effort.  Would be cool if you could provide some detail and tips to help us all out.  Putting it all in the original post keeps the valuable info all in one thread.

Congrats, Mike

DBM or roddy: I have the same sound that's on the video Mike shared. Sounds like I may also have a loose flywheel nut. Where do you get the flywheel holder?

Quasi, the flywheel holder can be easily fabricated from some 3/16" thick x 1" wide bar stock.  Just cut off a couple of equal lengths (about 16" long), drill some holes, and you're ready to rock-n-roll.  You can use stacks of washers to space the tool out from the flywheel.  A short 5/16" bolt fastens the two bars together at the center.  When installed, it looks like this.  Sorry for the poor-quality pic.

Here is another view of the simple tool.  As previously mentioned, just use washers in lieu of the solid spacer I have installed.

When you bolt the tool to the flywheel, nest it between the forward footpeg mounts on the frame.  Those prevent the tool from rotating so you can use both hands on the torque wrench when tightening or loosening the flywheel nut.  You will also need a 46mm deep socket for the flywheel nut.

To gain access to the flywheel, you will need to remove the alternator rotor.  That requires a special puller.  You need a service manual.  If you are not familiar with rotor removal and reinstallation, study up before attempting the job.
