Where is Suzuki ?

If you look at the motorcycle market from the so-called 30,000 ft level, Suzuki appears absent from the mid-size sector. Honda has umpteen 500-650 models, Kawi almost as many, RE up the wazoo, Yam a few, Suz only playing at 800cc. Based on past models, Suz can do it, but is choosing not to ?
What gives?
Cheers !  Cool
ps: Suz was winning in Moto GP, then pulled out completely ????

It's not necessary to even go to that
30,000' thing to look around and realize
Knowing when to Pull Out is something far too few know.

I can only see my future being in the 400 to 500 pound area !     I can get a 500cc kit for my 350 Royal Enfield now ... I've already got the cam !  Wink  I'm not sure I need the 500cc kit but a 410cc kit is available too , so maybe that one ?    It's nice at 350cc now.

Just a bit over 400 pounds and handles like a Savage with a short wheel base.

I do have a 650cc twin in reserve too. Smiley    at touch over 500 pounds.

For me the biggest disappointment is the lack of classic styled cruisers in the market. Yes, I like some of the classic styled new Harley's and Indians. I am really into Sportsters and old Harley's. But these new bikes are luxury machines and expensive. No way I would drop over 20K on an Indian Springfield or Heritage Softail.

Take a step down and we got the Vulcan Classic 900 and Suzuki C50T. These are cool and all, but where's the in-between? What ever happened to bikes the likes of VTX1300 or Vulcan 1500.

Also wouldn't mind seeing more standard bikes. Nice comfortable position with a sweet 500 to 750 cc four cylinder. Something like a Nighthawk.

Hay TheBabyDerp

I know a fella who is fixing-up an Old Honda 500 4 cylinder .    I understand there is  "Electronic firing system" for them old four cylinder bikes .

I had a Barn Find "2000 Kawasaki W-650" a few years ago .   It was parked for over 10 years and barely run-in before being parked.   You might be able to find something similar.

Just read that KTM is reorganizing to avoid bankruptcy. Reorganizing the model offering would be a good start,

Absolutely. There's tons of used bikes out there around here. I had a 98 CBR 600 F3 a few years back and wow that thing was fun. I also had a Nighthawk 550 that I unfortunately sold off. Never finished that project and I regret selling it.  W-650 looks cool. If I come across one I might have to take a look at it. I am partial to Kawasaki and Harley as I've had several of each and had good experiences.

I will be in South East Asia most of December and I might have the opportunity to rent a Kawasaki W-175. Would be interesting for sure.

I will say this though. I am looking forward to when the current royal enfields are on the used market. The Classic 650 in the teal color is quite beautiful.
