Dave, I did not know you were 70, I thought you you were maybe early 60’s.

Thanks for the compiment Lancer.  I am still in my late 60's.....for 10 more months!  (Birthday is 12/23).  I will then have my 70th birthday.  At this point I am still healthy and don't have any aches and pains to deal with, and getting thinner hair and some wrinkles is my only affliction.

I am blessed with very good genes on the Schroeder side of my ancestors, and they tend to be healthy for a very long time.  My grandmother almost made it to 105, her dad lived to 98, her aunt to 102.  My grandmother lived along until she was 100 and was still not on any prescription drugs.  The Whitacre side of my family is not as tough and my dad and all his brothers passed away in their 70's.  I have already lost a couple of Whitacre cousins who are younger than me.

That’s wonderful Dave.  My family is similar, some reach to 70-80 or so, while others are well into the 90’s.  My mother is 96.
My stepdad (Don) is 102 with a birthday coming up in April, and he is likely healthier than all of my family and going strong.  He still has 3 siblings who are close behind him, though they are having difficulties and need constant care.  Some of the gang has met him, Versey most recently, and can attest to his clear mind, with nearly perfect memory, and a fully functioning body, still driving, mowing on his riding mower, gardening and using his rototiller, car maintenance, etc.  He was an accountant and keeps records of everything on calendars and has done so YEARS, and can go back and find proofs of virtually anything recorded.  He is amazing.
I would not be surprised if he made it to 110.

All this talk about age is making my joints stiff.  My wife says I’m rolling them too tight.  Grin

That’s entirely possible, intake velocity is definitely decreased when that happens.

Well , this has to do with Old and Ridding !   Huh

There was a guy who referred to me one time as "New Bike Mike" ... he might have been in reference to the number of Mikes' who were on hand at the time but I'm guessing ???

Well , Something happened today that that might have changed my situation a little.
I was enjoying my daily ride and was resetting the trip-set after filling the fuel tank and noticed ... My New Bike had crossed (was fixing to cross) 20,000 miles on this Ride !   It seems my NEW BIKE ain't NEW ANY MORE --- then I got to thinking its 2.5 years old too !    The only salvation I have is the one year old bike only has 10,000 miles on it.   I have to keep at least one LONG STROKE SINGLE  Wink .

This current tank full has 140 something miles on it and is falling below 1/2 tank full already ...  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Thought I might go check my memory .

In all fairness  , that's the 1.5 lane back-roads millage , and the tank will take 3.5 gallons when the fuel light comes on with one bar left.   The small dash is the Factory GPS thing that reads off my phone and I rarely use it so it gets out of time over time. Grin
I could replace it with a Factory-Tac. ... but then I'd have to drive fast and that would by-past the "Zen" that this bike does so well !   Grin  Smiley
