Dang Versey !

That place holds a lot of GREAT memories for me !
I had the idea that the flood waters were up to 20 feet from normal , but if that's our cabin then it would be more like 30 feet or more from normal.
It does look like our cabin !    Sad

I hope they repair them !  Huh
............................

Hay Versey ,  while your here ... have you thought of where you'd like to go next year ?

I can't help but think ... we've only got another 20 years or so that we'll be able to go off for a week long bike ride !   Wink
After that
We'll be like those old Japanese guy who dust off their old 125cc bikes to go take a ride.   Roll Eyes

I'm pretty sure it rose 27' but might not been that high there.
I know the park is closed at least along the river at the moment.
Hope they reopen soon I'd like to go back especially if we can get the ranch house again.

Moab was awesome too, really does wet my appetite to go somewhere else.
Cody, mt rushmore, hell anyplace we can find curvy roads and good food.

Wow! That picture is gut wrenching.

Please let me know where you guys decide to go next year. Unless that time is already committed on my part I sure do want to meet up with you guys. I'm not getting younger and have already experienced a couple of health scares, so, let's ride while we can!!!

MM:  The Tellico Plains weather for this week looks pretty scary - rain forecast for nearly every day.

The forecast has afternoon thunderstorms Mon/Tues (pretty typical for hot July/August days in the mountains) - then for Thur/Fri there is a 90% chance of rain and 70% on Saturday.

If the forecast doesn't improve much I am likely going to cancel my cabin reservations on Monday.

Hay Springman , Versey and all other interested parties  ...  Smiley

I was just  getting ready for a TellicoPlains Skyway adventure  ...  and came across another Skyway adventure in SW Colorado.
It's called the "San Juan Skyway"

Its just short of 1500 miles from my house and the way there runs with-in 5 miles of Lancers house !

I wonder how much other stuff might be in the same area :     The $1,000,000.00 hwy is there some where ?

I'd post the link but I'm on the Chrome book and its a lot different than my Windows ?

Anybody know how to :copy and Paste on Chromebook ?

same way if you're using a keyboard, don't know if you're using a finger.

"San Juan Skyway" I'll have to look for it.

MM:

I have attached the Accuweather forecast for this week.  The weather is not likely an all day rain - but I suspect it will not be easy to dodge the rain for several days in a row when the forecast has so much potential for rain.  When it is so warm in the mountains - the afternoon pop up thunderstorms are somewhat inevitable.

Well ... into each life a little rain must fall if there is to be flowers.     I'm going for the flowers and if I get wet a little then I'll blot the melted spots in my skin best I can .   Grin

Tellico Plains is only about 4 hours for away me and I'll ride instead of trailer or truck bed.

If we go to San Juan Skyway I'd like to ride instead of truck too, but nobody I know want to ride and camp  ...   But , its more fun to bring or meet company !  Smiley

I talked to my neighbor Bruce - he is not afraid flowers....or showers.

We will be leaving Wednesday morning and will likely arrive late afternoon on Wednesday.

Might be a repeat of that very wet ride we had on "The Rattler" last year. Shocked

I'm leaving Tuesday and will have a ride Wednesday.   Are yall interested in finding that area we rode the year Jed came along and I rode your 1100 Honda ?   I'm not sure where it even was .   The signs to the Indian Boundary area might lead in the right direction ?   If it does or not I don't remember seeing that area yet , but I'll save it for Thursday or Friday if ya'll are interested .   Huh

I need to ride home Saturday .   Marcia's staying at her mom's a lot to help take care of her 101 years old mom , mom is still is funny to be with most of the time.   Well , I'm meeting Marcia Saturday afternoon so I need to leave about lunch time Saturday.

We have some really good maps of the area that show the nice rides - so we can plan a route that hopefully dodges the rain.  The current forecast hints that the rains will be early morning and the afternoons dry - which is the opposite of the afternoon pop-up showers that we normally experience down there.

That ride with Jed included a fairly long stretch of dirt road that was very dusty.......and likely would be very muddy with all this rain.  That is not something I have a need to explore!!!!!

We can ride part of the way out with you on Saturday and then find some fun roads to ride back (if it doesn't drag us into heavy rain).

I will bring my 10x10 Pop Up canopy and you can put it over your tent to help you stay drier.

I didn't remember the gravel , but I grew up on a gravel road so I don't pay much attention to gravel .    I don't like cleaning the dust off !

I might have to see how you get the big tent strapped to your bike ?   Grin
Those maps will be good !

See yall Wednesday evening .  Smiley
