I chuckle when I read his picks are not qualified or that they’re loyalist. Face it, Merrick Garland was selected as AG knowing full well the sting of not getting a confirmation hearing would stay with him and having the opportunity to direct law enforcement in partisan directions, was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Garland has been more than loyal to Biden, he’s been his guard, his protector.
And let’s face it, the head of an organization needs to be a leader, someone who sets an example, someone who recognizes trends, opportunities and not necessarily a subject matter expert on the numerous ,if not countless, sub-categories below them. The company I work for is the industry leader, unchallenged in our technical advantage, but our division heads are not SME on each category below them. They have levels of experts on each component below them and the critical skill they have that makes them the right person for the job is discerning the truth, the most accurate path forward. That requires a certain familiarity with the topic but not complete expertise. For example, I don’t recall CNN commentators lamenting Pete Buttiplug as Secretary of Transportation when his experience was a small college town mayor.
In marketing, there’s an interrupt theory, an action that interrupts what your mind has been conditioned to expect is coming next. I hope all his, picks get placed and the shake up begins. Ultimately, I would hope this forced people to take more active control of their lives, their environment, their nation.
