Gift money, as much as you can to low income people you trust, to buy you a car/vacation/whatever, when you need one.

Put money in metals, (like gold/silver)
A 'Barter' system will be coming.

Drain your money accounts, and if anyone asks where that went, you tell them it went to xxx Indian Casino and I Lost. Talk to them !
(While you have converted the, 'paper', to gold)

If you are selling land, raise the price 33%, or sell it fast, before she raises Capital Gains.

Then HANG ON, for 4 years.
Which this Nation will completely go down the tubes.

The important concept to remember is that when government increases its taxes on corporations so they pay their “fair share”, what that really means is the government gets first claim on their profits before those who are relying on a 401(k) for the their retirement do.

Regarding economists, they’re like a$$holes, everybody’s got one and they don’t mind the way theirs smells.

I realize this is a difficult concept for many of you, but use your common sense. Does taking more money from the top affect you at the bottom? Of course it does. Do you really think the government uses that money appropriately? Of course, it does not. Otherwise, we would not have a deficit.

Yes, tariffs also trickle down to the lower classes, but the one thing about tariffs is they force another domestic company to come in and fill the gap which is potentially a better outcome than increasing taxes on domestic corporation.

Key word: potentially. That’s the problem with economics. It’s not a science it’s not even an art. It’s political spin. There are a few very solid laws of economics. For the most part economics is a blank canvas that anyone can paint on, if they have the paint and an audience to look at it.

This article is inaccurate in regard to stock value. It claims:

The value of a share of stock is the present value discounted by the expected after-tax future earnings of the company.

That's not exclusively how it works. The value of Company Stock is equal to the present value of the future dividends plus the present value of the forecasted selling price.

Taxes take play but the statement in the article is over-simplified to blame the entire holdings deviations on taxation.

Given the opportunity to let the Government handle my investments, or a Private Company, I would typically choose a private company. Then again huge corporations aren't exactly known for getting all that money from honest straightforward business practices.

Given the opportunity to let a Private Company run air-traffic control around the US or the Government, I would choose the Government. However that level of coordination and funding would require tax dollars.

And the value a stock is based on a lot of factors and I don’t think the article blamed everything on taxes. It was making a very clear point that when you raise taxes on corporations, that has the potential of lowering their revenue. There’s no doubt about that. It’s an extra expense that they have to find a way around. If they can’t, that impacts the value of a stock, which impacts 401(k)s, which impacts retirements.
