hello, I have a LS 650 - 92 year, I have a problem with the valves knocking, after adjustment it continues. After disassembly and inspection, I found a radial play on the sprocket of the timing chain, is this normal or is it a problem?

Hi Red, tech section is for fixes not questions.

You need to describe your problem more as we cannot see what you're doing and when you've done it.

How did you see the radial play?  I can't imagine the sprocket moving with the chain tension on it and it being bolted to the cam.

The valves will always tick a bit as being too tight is as much a problem as too tight.  And it can be difficult to adjust both valves identically.
