I have the 2013. I believe this one came with bar risers, and having not taken them apart I suspect they may be modular. Is this the case? Could I remove the riser from the clamps?

So, if I remove the spacers I could just run the clamps? Does this make sense what I'm trying to ask?

I've been considering picking up early model year clamps to put in the triple trees with my 4 inch rise Z bars, but if I can just remove the spacers from the clamps I don't need to pick up an older set of them. I think either way I will need new bushings however.

Don't think there should be a clearance issue with the Sportster tank I have on there, but won't be positive until I mock it up.

My '08 had the pullback risers, and yes, they are modular. Not sure if he still does this, but Versy made me straight 3" risers out of aluminum. Others have used deep well sockets.

So, here's an exploded view. I'm wondering if I can have part 8, the lower clamp, connect directly to part 13. Would this work out? I'm trying to save myself the trouble of pulling it apart to find out.

I learned how to make these on this forum, I think they look great. I bought a bike with buckhorns, and got the oem drag bars on ebay. I made these from 2 3/8 x 6" hex bolts, vinyl lock nuts, washers, and Husky 19mm 3/8 deep sockets. These sockets are 2.5" tall, just right.
I've seen some disagreement about what rise is needed so dragbars don't hit the tank. If the drag bars are installed angled up they might not hit the tank with no risers. But these are installed with the angle bent straight back, and clear the tank with the 2.5" sockets.
Only hard part was I had to drill out the hole in the sockets for the 3/8" bolt to pass through. And it was hard metal to drill.
