2007 S40 Ignition module needed!!!
08/01/23 at 12:16:45

Hi, my 2007 S40 has been very difficult to start for over a month, it backfires, and bucks, and takes forever to start. So I ordered a new air filter and plug and cleaned the carb. Now it won't fire at all, no spark. The coil checks good, as do the fuses, battery(12.8 volts), and connections. The ignition module has no output at the coil connection. Does anyone on here have a cdi that would fit my bike for sale? #J4T14871, Suzuki part #32900-24B30.

Your battery voltage was 12.8v.
Was that a static voltage check or was it taken while you were hitting the start button ?  It makes a difference.
If the voltage is 10v or less while hitting the start button, it will not be sufficient to engage the start sequence.

The voltage while cranking with the plug removed was 12.6 volts. It's a nearly new fully charged battery.

Stupid expensive $562 on Revzilla!!  I'd be trying something like this junk on eBay (see link) before dropping $562....  There are a few used ones for sale under $200.

ThumperPaul I replaced the ignition module and that didnt help. I got voltage to the module still no spark. On advice I checked the sending coil and had an open coil. I am in the process of getting a used coil. I hope that works.

Well I finally got to hear it run again, I was beginning to worry. I got the 2 nd sending coil, stator in and installed and it runs. I can't believe I haven't been able to ride in a month. Thanks for all of your help, I appreciate it.
