Any alternative gas tanks?
07/27/23 at 11:34:26

Yo savages,

Anyone know of a gas tank that does on 1:1 direct swap with the savage? I've tried Suzuki gn125, seemed very close to fitting but did not.

Any other ideas?

There are forum members who have mounted other gas tanks - most have more capacity and a few are smaller.

None of them are a direct swap - they all need some work to make them fit.  In addition to the tank work you will then have to mount a speedometer, turn signal indicators, neutral light, high beam light if you want to have all the stuff you had before.

The work often includes adjustments to the front and rear mounts, and the petcock location may not be ideal.

MMRanch installed a tank that didn't require a huge amount of work.....hopefully he will see this thread and let us know what tank he used.

supposedly a kawasaki vn750 tank will fit and it's styled the same.
it doesn't have the speedo hole, but it does have a fuel level sensor.
