I just love all the Chrome ... it would match my hair now days !

Ask your guest where he got those chrome fenders ?

I might get one of the Int. 650's before the year is up ???   The Guzzi only gets 50-53 mpg and I'm reading the RE-650 will get near 70 ridding the same way the Guzzi get 53.   Both bikes are about the same HP too.

I like those chrome fenders no matter what color the tank I  might get .  Smiley

The new ones all have black fenders.   I think the "Orange Crush" color has silver front fender.   I've not seen chrome fenders on any of the stock machines.
So
Are they generic chrome/stainless or after market made for the RE Int. ?   Huh

Jim's back Monday, I'll ask about the fenders but he bought it used recently and all customized.
Stainless exhaust, 3 different seats, LED headlight, and the fairing is aftermarket with a chrome wrap

Here is a link to Fuelly......folks post actual mileage from actual rides and fuel used.
https://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle

The Moto Guzzi averages 50mpg on that site.....the Royal Enfield averages 58.  You can click on the individual bike and see that on some rides the owner got lower than the average...and on some rides they got more.  The Royal Enfield for one rider got as low as 40mpg on one fillup.....into the middle 60's on another fillup.  Nobody got more than 60mpg average on the Interceptor.

I am definitely in support of you buying a new Royal Enfield - it is a great looking bike!  Buying it to get more fuel mileage won't payoff for a while with only 8mpg difference.  Suppose you sell or trade-in the Guzzi, and it requires you to pay $3,000 more to get the Enfield.....and that gas is $3.50 a gallon.  On a 1,000 mile ride the fuel will cost you $70 on the Guzzi and $60 on the Enfield....the difference is $10.  That $10 difference will require you to make 300 trips that are 1,000 miles long....or 300,000 miles before you save enough on gas to pay for the extra money the Royal Enfield cost.  (Obviously the amount of extra money you pay for the Royal Enfield affects how many miles you need to ride to break even.....if you only paid $1,000 difference it would only take 100,000 miles).

So...buy the Royal Enfield because it pulls on your heart strings and makes you happy.  New and different motorcycles are the spice of life!  (I would love for you to get one and let me ride it when we go riding!!!!)  If it gets better mpg that is a bonus - but it is not going to be an investment that leaves more money in your bank account.

My buddy has an Interceptor.  Silver fender.. from what I can see.  I don't remember it being chrome.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut between the seat and the handlebars. Make sure yours isn't too tight or too loose.

Chromies add another layer of luxury to a bike , like giant chrome bumpers on cars of 50s & 60s. Stylin !

Jim just back from Colorado, I asked him about the fenders.
They were custom ordered from India and they're not chrome, they're stainless steel!

Does that mean he wants his bike back?

What did you think after riding it?
