Videos of gas canisters exploding don't dissuade people from buying electric.

 That red canister that hit the guy was not a seat it was the gas canister that ruptured.  The explosion type is non incendiary and not hot.  This was not an electric car battery explosion.

 The important thing here though is to not observe that this was a gas canister and that the video is intentionally misleading.  Instead go find more electric car fires, only observe electric car fires.

 The accurate and provable observation that the video referenced was an LPG canister exploding does not equate to being pro-electric.  A human can observe this was a misleading video lying to us about a gas canister exploding, and still think electric cars are not as safe as petroleum fueled vehicles.

 I believe this video representation is a lie, and not even a good one at that.  This belief does not mean I am pro-electric vehicles.

 Indeed.  Unfortunately he died from it, most likely from hitting the ground.  Internal brain bleed would be my guess.

 No sh!t.  The spinal compression is massive.  I've seen multiple compressed disk injuries from people doing the airbag prank.  I think this happens more than head injuries or sprains from the landings.

 I'd say I have seen easily over a hundred MVC deaths from heads/chests/throats hitting steering assemblies.  Airbags kill too but, from only my experience, and also looking at the NTSB, CO DOT, and 13 County Coroners data, I would say that airbags deaths are much much lower than steering column or dashboard impact deaths.

 This is kind of how seat belts kill people too, and incidentally motorcycle helmets have killed riders.  I saw one just two months ago.  But the pavement has killed much more.

 This assessment is utilizing empirical and readily available/verifiable data is not stating airbags should or should not be legally disconnected from vehicles.  

 A human can assess accurately that airbag impact deaths happen less than solid steering column deaths and also think it is ok to legally allow humans to disconnect air-bags from their personally owned vehicles.

I like to go karting every now and then, there is no airback and I once drove full throttle on two stationary karts. I almost died because I couldn't breathe from the pain. A seatbelt looks nice, until you need one.
Its almost pulled straight through your chest in a solid collision.
I prefer an explosion in my face, from an air back any time.
