Custom S40

Hi Folks, have occasionally looked at the forum over the last few years since purchasing an S40 for my partner. I co-own a custom bike shop in Brisbane, Australia so it was inevitable her bike would go under the knife to some degree. Thought it might be of interest to some members. Will add a link to the full story in my next post.
Cheers

That's Trim...
The paint across the bottom of the tank, looks like someone is clamped on..

That is quite a bit bigger rotor.. Someone needs to be, uhh, metered ,,in applying leverage to the lever.. Looks Right,, ottsta be Stock,

The seat is either reflective of the spirit of the bike
Orrr
Girl's a little shortish...

Looks Great either way, but if she's kinda smallish, and maybe a bit scary, she's got a fine machine to go do,,

If she's trying to make time through the curves, you might look at skinny tires..

Is that exhaust ceramic?
How's that muffler?

Your partner is one lucky lady.  That is a sweeeeeeeet ride.  Everything just fits right.  Very nice job.  Where did you get those side covers?  How did you achieve the perfect upswept line of the muffler?

Thanks for the comments.
The side covers are custom in aluminium. The battery cover had been damaged and I wanted to reduce the visual clutter in that area so came up with what I thought was a pleasing shape that did the job of both right side covers. The left had to match, relevant to mounting options.
The muffler is also custom (in stainless), the angle is just one of the loose rules we follow when doing exhausts (aim for the rear axle). It mounts via the original modified bracket.

Good Lord that's beautiful.
I appreciate the article included a link to this forum regarding Shawn's big brake kit.
If I rode it, the only thing I would change is the mirrors. I just gotta see what's behind/beside me.

For me the focal point is the large British looking side covers he fabbed , then the shapes & lines just seal the deal. Color is so unimportant. Shapes & Lines , stance , these things have to be in place before color. Super important to mock up  over & over or leave it mocked up in between the times you have to work on it. So your eyes glance at it whenever you get near , that’s when all those tiny insignificant changes come about to bring what your eyes see as perfection.

Looks amazing! Love the color and that fade at the bottom, makes it feel like its getting so hot it is turning white.

How is the seat attached? Does it use the stock mounting points?

Love what you’ve done here! I’ve seen your shop’s work before, you’ve done a lot of really nice work over the years. Thanks for sharing!
