The Bob Job
01/28/23 at 19:52:40

Hello All, bought a new S40 last week. Looking to make it a bobber.

I 6'1'' and am trying to find a good seat that raises the seating height. I saw some options on Amazon but might have to make adjustments to make it fit. Suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I'm 6'2" and getting longer shocks made the bike sit taller which is more comfortable then forward controls IMO

Now for a more comfortable seat, im gonna try more padding under the stock one

Longer shocks don't change the footpeg/seat relationship.  This is a fact.

Saddle Road Sofa reach seat would be best for you as you and above 6 feet people.

If you have access to a welder, spanning the frame dip from the end of the tank to the horns with pipe or angle can give you an extra 3" height. Ebay has plenty of seats in any style.
I bolted 2 straps across the dip and gained 2"+  height. All-in cost less than $40.
Cheers!  Cool

When you can't feel your fingertips after 20 mins, it is too cold!
Cheers!   Cool

I sent my stock seat to Russell Cycle to get redone, they raised it flat across the entire seat, so a gold 3-4 inch rise, and i can seat further back. Before I used to just sit on the passenger portion of the seat.

Never seen a seat like that. Looks hella comfy. Hell yes I would ride that , if my feet would reach the pegs , not. Clean bike , those stairs look familiar.

Well, I've posted these photos before, just posting for the OP as he is considering raising the seat. After I had it raised flat across like this, the bike is super comfortable for me, before that it was comically cramped, at 6'4" I felt like I was riding a children bicycle.

The foot peg-to-seat relationship changes exactly ZERO so unless your legs are getting shorter somehow, there is no change.
