Apparently cats kill a lot more.
Though I'm not believing many of our big birds, eagles and owls, are getting splattered on windows.

About ten years ago, I had a Cooper's hawk chasing a pigeon hit my french door window.
Pigeon died,... hawk was stunned for several minutes.
Sounded like a thunder strike.

Looked up Cooper's hawk. Thought, looks like a red tail to me. And I'm not any kind of expert on birds. So looked up Red tails, apparently they are bigger and Coopers have a black cap. Once in a while I get the pleasure of a hawk circling. But not close enough to see defining characteristics. Coupla times I got to see one dive and grab something only to hustle off to a distant limb to savor the flavor of the victim.
In the No Kiddin!!?? department, a guy I knew saw a red tail get hit by a pickup. It was flopping around in the ditch and he scooped it up and brought it to me. I bought some heavy leather gloves, opened a pound of burger meat, had a fat straw from a malt and I held it and he loaded the straw and blew meat in its mouth. After a week or so it was getting stronger so I got leg thigh quarters and let it walk around in the yard and I teased it till it snagged the chicken outta my hand. OhhHolyCrap! That thing was so quick, if it had gotten a piece of the glove idk how it would have gone. After it chowed down I saw meat poking out between feathers on its neck, so I called the vet I thought worked on birds. They said Yes, so I hauled her in there. I didn't get ten feet in the door before they were hollering at me to Get that thing outta there.
Works out, there's a ten Thousand dollar fine just for having one. I called them and they gave me a number for a licensed rehab bird specialist.
It had a busted wing, hole in its gullet and blind in one eye.
She chewed me out and asked why I didn't call her first.
Only answer I had was
The darned bird didn't have your number.

It was a heckuva interesting time in my life, trying to save that bird.

Aaand, back to the show.
Hope that wasn't too boring.

Trivia...
You know that bird sound that follows every time a movie shows a big landscape panorama?
Same sound every movie.
That's a Red Tailed Hawk.  Only bird that makes that sound.
