If so, that same ground could be used to complete a circuit for a relay that has12 volts on one leg of the control winding. Wouldn't be complicated.

I never had any problems starting, but sometimes when turning off I get a scary knocking sound. Gotta check those gears, see if there are any damage

As far as I know, kill switch interrupts 12v to the ignition, not add a ground.
Making this switch dpdt would be a bad idea as what would shut off current to the decomp? After a couple of seconds, the solenoid is bound to be hot. A momentary button would have the least risk, just quit pushing it when the engine has stopped.

Hey guys.

So I've found the starter gears and clutch assembly. Now the main fear is the cleaning up of the engine.

How far down do I have to pull it ? I'm missing about 6 teeth in there somewhere. How much damage may they have done and how far can they go.

Also how hard will it be to make my cover fit back on. I read the older post but it's hard to tell exactly where the material needs to come off
