There was no insurrection. The only one killed that day as a direct result of an out of hand protest, was one of the protesters. The nation was never in any danger. The protest at The White House fence months before was far worse. Had those guards stepped back and allowed the protesters to enter the grounds as they did at The Capitol, many would have died because they wouldn’t have stopped to take selfies once inside, they would have stormed doors looking for The President of the United States and would have killed him.

The sales presentation last night was a joke, a charade, a theatrical play full of lies.

I agree this is overdone for sure. There were very few "insurrectionists" by legal definition on Jan 6th, and I do think the WH incident was far worse when it comes to actual criminal intent.

Running on half the facts is the mission statement of this committee. Are they still saying the officer was bludgeoned to death with a fire extinguisher? I read CBS News yesterday said 5 officers had died “from” the Jan 6 protest. Did they even mention an unarmed (which is redundant because no one was armed) woman was the only one killed that day and that the officer remains unidentified and was adjudicated in secret? Did they mention those things.

Nothing about Jan 6th changes the definition of "armed". There is no requirement that people have a firearm to be "armed". The guy with the hockey stick was "unarmed"?

If I hit you with a hockey stick on Jan 6th I was unarmed, but if I did it the day before I was armed with a hockey stick?

I get saying it wasn't an insurrection, but insisting you need guns to be armed makes zero sense. Why do there need to be guns for people to be "armed" only on this day?

Assume the most extreme fever dreams of the left had come true: The protesters hung Vice President Mike Pence! Instead of just taking her lectern, they held House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at gunpoint! Maybe they assassinated her, too! Armed men in “TRUMP” hats occupied the Capitol for days!

Now what? Either:

a) The military takes the Capitol back and the perpetrators are sent to prison for a long, long time, (much as is happening now for something more like student radicals taking over the Dean’s office).

b) U.S. government officials, from the secretary of defense to the attorney general announce: Oh, okay, we’ll install Trump as dictator.
