Oil leaking from left hand lower control mounting (Read 65 times)

You might try taking the time to actually explain what you are see and explain how you did everything. We can't actually SEE what is going on. You are the first to report a negative result.

That bolt is one of the bolts that holds the two crankcase halves together. There is no gasket at the joint, just a non hardening sealant applied when the engine is assembled. Tightening the bolt to spec usually will stop the leak. 14mm wrench on the head of the bolt and a 17mm on the nut. It's easier if you have a helper to hold the wrench on the bolt head but it's not impossible to do alone.

If the bolt has been really lose for a long time I suppose it's possible for the sealant to be missing or damaged in that spot but I'm not aware of a case where tightening the bolt properly didn't stop the leak.
