RYCA Cafe bike sold on Bring A Trailer auction
03/28/22 at 10:51:25

Did anyone else notice the RYCA cafe bike that just sold on the auction site Bring A Trailer?  Dan P brought it to my attention early in the 5 day auction, and it only had two bids, the higher being $2800.  On the last day of the auction it hammered at $8000!!!!  Close inspection of the bike revealed many short comings in my opinion.  No fork brace, no sprocket cover on the engine or chain guard, stock front brake, gages were mounted so the face of them were horizontal (not angled toward the rider).  I am really surprised it actually went for that much money...  Shocked

The buyer is going to be shokked that he paid that much, too.

My friend calls "Bring a Trailer" - "Add a Zero".....as things really seem to sell high on that site.

I am hoping to do really well - I have a 1968 Honda MiniTrail that will go on sale after I get back from the Texas trip.

Here is the RYCA

That's the Bring A Trailer tax in action. I have a friend who sends me car links from there and the auctions end up being 15-20% over what we expect.

If the seller and buyer are more or less happy, who cares. I probably paid double what my recently aquired Jawa was worth, but they are hard to find here. That's not the case with S40's in the US, but maybe the buyer wanted to be or look "cuwell".

considering it's a newer bike with an unobtainable RYCA cafe kit installed... it's a steal.

Interesting stuff, I would agree with The Sneeze about the missing belt cover, wouldn't want to be riding with lace up shoes. I did watch the video of the demo ride and the position of the instruments didn't seem so bad although it was filmed with a Go Pro on a helmet or similar thing. You are probably leaving somewhat further foward on a RYCA. Are the tyres motorcycle or is this the "darkside" thing, would they enhance handling? Fork brace or not, it wouldn't be much joy in the wet.
