It appears to me to be like a diverter inside of the muffler so it cannot resonate back towards the engine. No honeycomb stuff.

About the height of your main jet to the float bowl, or about the part that fell out?

When I removed my main jet there was only a washer between the jet and the carb body.  Also, my jet does not stick out as far as yours.  It is recessed into the bowl when you remove the plug.

Whoa!  That kinda looks like it might be the normal, stock PWK needle jet.  Do you think someone might have tried to repair the carb?  Maybe the fit between the normal needle jet and the metering block was loose so they tried to capture the jet with that contraption you refer to as the "extender".  Have you tried running it without the piece that fell out?

Regarding your muffler, it doesn't look like it's a genuine Harley part.  To me, it looks like an aftermarket item, or possibly a Screaming Eagle muffler.  I believe some of your pictures that you posted were taken before you started messing with the PWK.  If that is correct, your muffler was discolored prior to the PWK install.  Do you agree?

Very possible,
I’m going to take the carburetor out today, as I have the day off. I started fooling with the float level; now the SOB wont start: i’m going to take some quality pictures of the carburetor. So I can get yawls feedback. Also the carburetor has been straight out of the box onto my motorcycle. Unless somebody may be returned it or something I don’t know. Yes I tried to run it with a piece that fell, out wouldn’t start. That little piece gets inserted on top of the needle jet:

Can't wait for those quality pictures.

This is an illustration (cross section) of a normal PWK needle and needle jet.  Make sure you install that suspect needle jet (the piece that fell out) as shown in the illustration.  The side with the larger opening goes "up".
