Thanks for all the advice. As for some of your questions. It did not look as oily in there as I have seen in heads of other motorcycle engines I have worked on. When I cranked the engine with the valve adjustment covers off, I could not see any oil flinging around or pumping in. The only place that had a trough of oil was under the cam lobes. The high spots of the lobes dipped into that oil when I turn the engine by hand. There are no other pools of oil in the head. I'm taking a few days off from tinkering, (wife's orders), but will check the cam oil feed hole and left cam bearing when I get back to things next week. I agree, I do not want to install replacement parts if I have an oil supply problem. I would like to test oil feed to head. If I crank the engine with the head cover off, at what rate and/or pressure should oil come out of the supply hole? Merry Christmas to all!
